Well done to all the children and their families for the fantastic support you have given to the Parent Association’s ‘5K Your Way Fundraiser‘. It has been a big success, and so far a total of €3,857 has been raised which will go towards the purchase of a set of pupil Ipads.  If you have not yet returned your sponsorship, there is still time to make a payment to the Aladdin Online Payments System which will remain open until June 18th. 

I wish to extend my appreciation on behalf of the school staff and the Board of Management to our hardworking Parents Association for their support, and to Chairperson Sandra Courtney, Vice Chairperson Clodagh Elliffe and Treasurer Claire Sargent.

Our Digital Learning Strategy has to date focused on the replacement of outdated whiteboards with modern interactive panels. The next phase of this investment is targeted at providing digital devices for use by pupils in the classroom setting. Ipads are a great tool to integrate digital learning into the curriculum for our children as they are easy to use, portable and allow access to a variety of different apps and computing opportunities including fun literacy and numeracy games.   

Thanks to your generosity in the run up to Christmas we have already raised €4,000 which has supported the school in the purchase of 16 ipads and a mobile storage and charging unit. We are looking to raise a further €4,000 to accelerate the school’s investment in further ipads to ensure that every child in the school will have access to digital learning as recommended by the Department of Education. 

This is where your family can help………. we are asking all students to participate in a virtual 5km walk, cycle, run or swim over the long weekend break between Friday 4^th June to Tuesday 8^th June. 

A minimum contribution of €10 per child is suggested (payable via the Aladdin Schools App) and we would love it if you could send a picture of your own virtual ‘5K Your Way’ to share with the school community! Please upload your picture to your class teacher via Seesaw App. There will also be some spot prizes!

Our Junior and Senior Infants had a wonderful school tour today. They took part in a day of active Playball and some chalk drawing in the wonderful weather. Everyone enjoyed the day and the children had great fun.
