Creative Schools
Scoil Chéile Chriost Rathmore N.S. has been accepted onto the Creative Schools Initiative supported by the Arts Council of Ireland. This initiative is focused on developing the creative potential of every child. It aims to put the arts and creativity at the heart of children and young people’s lives. Over the next two years, we will be working together to develop a whole school plan for a creative initiative in our school. Our goal is to integrate creativity and fun into our approach to learning at Rathmore National School.

Our Creative Associate
Our Creative Associate is Vera McEvoy. You can watch her introductory video as she says hello to all of us at Rathmore N.S. (You have been given the password to access this video by your class teacher).
Each Creative Associate is either an artist with a background and expertise in working with children and young people or a teacher who has developed an arts practice. The Creative Associates will work closely with the school community to develop a bespoke Creativity Plan for each school (Creative Ireland, 2021).
Vera is a visual art facilitator who encourages creativity in all ages, providing opportunities to experiment and create using various art processes. Through encouragement of everyone’s creativity, Vera promotes confidence and self-expression (Arts Council, 2021).
