Due to the extreme weather conditions, the Department of Education and Skills has advised that all schools in red areas (currently Leinster and Munster) are to close on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd March 2018.

Rathmore National School is therefore closed on Thursday and Friday

School is CLOSED today due to further falls of snow overnight.

UPDATE – 9:30PM TUESDAY

A decision will be made by 7:30am Wednesday morning on whether the school will open – this will depend on snowfall overnight and conditions in the morning. The website will be updated and a text will be sent to parents.

As of now, we have not been made aware of any school bus cancellations, but are monitoring the situation.

Irrespective of whether or not the school opens, in the interest of Heath & Safety, parents should use their own judgement on whether to send children to school, based on their opinion of conditions in their area.
