| Rathmore NationaI School will be CLOSED on Mon 16 OCT in response to advice from Dept Education and Met Eireann – severe weather alert – Storm Ophelia.

In response to the imminent Storm Ophelia, the Department of Education and Skills is now publicly informing all schools, colleges and other education institutions that they are to remain closed tomorrow, Monday 16 October. This decision has been made following discussions with members of the Government Task Force on Emergency Planning and in light of the advice from Met Éireann on this unprecedented storm. All schools and colleges will be closed tomorrow.

U11 Girls Semi Final
Our U11 girls will play in a semi-final against Scoil Bhride Naas tomorrow 12th October in Naas GAA. We wish the girls all the best
Cross Country
Cumann na mBunscoil Cross Country will take place in Valleymount on Wednesday 18th October with 48 Rathmore pupils taking part.
Wood Turning
John Doran from the Irish Woodturners Guild will come to the school on Thursday 16th November to demonstrate his skills to the pupils from Junior Infants to 3rd class. Cost €1 per pupil.
Christmas Fair
This year our Christmas Fair will take place on Thursday 14th December. Please make note of this date on your holiday calendar.
No School
There will be no school on Monday 8th January 2018 due to a staff In Service Day.
