Extra Bank Holiday on 18th March 2022 and School Closure on 8th June
It has now been confirmed by the Government that Friday 18th March has been designated as a once-off public holiday for 2022. The public holiday was passed as a thank you to all frontline workers for their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic and as a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives when the pandemic began two years ago. As Rathmore N.S. was already timetabled to be closed on Friday 18th March, we have re-assigned this 1-day closure to Wednesday 8th June and the school will now be closed on Friday 3rd June and will re-open on Thursday 9th June.
Half Day School Closure for Continuing Professional Development for Teachers
Please be advised that a whole-staff seminar of professional support as part of the introduction of the Primary Language Curriculum in primary schools will take place for all teachers on Wednesday afternoon 23rd February and Rathmore N.S. will close for a half day at 12.30pm on that day for pupils only. Note that we are also closed on Thursday and Friday 24th & 25th February for the Mid-Term break.
A further half- day closure is scheduled to take place during Term 3 of 2022 and parents/guardians will be notified of the exact date as soon as the details become available.
Junior Infants Enrolment 2022/2023 School Year
As a result of the Education (Admissions to School) Act 2018 which has been enacted and now applies to school admissions from September 2021 in all primary schools, our School Admission Policy has been ratified to incorporate these changes and is available to view on our school website at www.rathmorens.ie It is very important to note the dates which are applicable for admission to Junior Infants Classes for the 2022/2023 school year.
The school began accepting completed Application Forms for Junior Infants 2022/23 on 6th January 2022 and will close on 7th February, 2022.
Failure to accept an offer, or to return a completed Application Form to the school, within the prescribed period outlined on the Admission Notice may result in the offer being withdrawn.
