Rathmore Senior Camogie Girls did it again !

IMG_4384
On the 9th June our school girls under 13 Senior Camogie won their Division 2 final in Moorefield. A great achievement for Rathmore and this makes it four years in a row the girls camogie team have brought home the cup. The road to the final went smoothly, the girls winning all the games in their group. However, they knew they would be up against it at the final, playing Ardclough. The game began at 3.45pm on a very warm day.  The match was very tight, with low scoring, until a well won free was safely put over the bar by our captain on the day Sara Carroll. Rathmore followed this with another goad and three points to retreat at half time with a lead to 1-4 to a goal.  Our goalie all year, Emma Shanahan was doing a great job. The second half started much like the first. They were well matched teams and it was very hard to say which team would come out on top. with ten minutes to go, a pass from Aine Mernagh, into the hands of Emma McCabe, who struck it well into the back of the net, ensured the game was ours. A well deserved win and a super achievement for all the girls who took part.
