Irish teenagers have risen to third place in reading in an international league table. The performance of Irish 15-year-olds in maths improved slightly in the same rankings, although in science there was a drop in the Irish score.
While Ireland remains 13th out of more than 30 countries in maths, the same ranking as in 2012, it has dropped from 9th to 13th position in science. The results of the latest study from the OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), which is conducted every three years, are released today.
