GO PHONE FREE WEEK

Rathmore Primary School together with 12 other primary schools in the Naas area is a proud supporter of the Go Phone Free initiative. We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our annual Go Phone Free Week from 5 – 9 October 2026.
Be sure to look out for an exciting programme of events including Games, Workshops, Dress-Up Day, and a Creative Art Competition!
Tuesday 6th October: Paula O’Connor will hold an in person Parents Information Evening (“Don’t Be Mean Behind Your Screen”) on Tuesday, 6th October at 7pm. Tickets are free and available at Eventbrite: https://tinyurl/Gophonefree
Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th October: Workshops for 3rd – 6th class pupils: WorkYouth Digital Literacy & Online Safety expert Paula O’Connor will do her renowned workshop “Don’t Be Mean Behind Your Screen”.
Friday 9th October: Dress-up Day – Pupils can wear the Go Phone Free colours blue, yellow and green.
Creative Art Competition “Toys versus Tech”: During the week we will have a Creative Art Competition with fabulous prizes to be won! The winning pieces will be exhibited in Naas Library.
My Favourite Toy: During the week, younger pupils will be invited to bring in their favourite toy for Show and Tell or bring in their favourite teddy for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic.
Sign-up to GoPhoneFree: Finally, both our parents and children will have the opportunity to voluntarily sign up to or renew their GoPhoneFree pledge this year. This is to pledge not to give their child a smartphone or social media until after they have completed primary school.
