Mr Robbie Jameson yesterday informed the Board and then the Staff that he will be retiring from 1st September this year. The news was received with sadness by all, as Robbie has been a colleague and a friend and an integral part of the school for the past 14 years.

Robbie Jameson arrived in 2005, the year the new school opened, and has worked tirelessly and provided leadership in the years since, to build Rathmore National School into probably the best primary school in the county – one we are all proud of.

Robbie will be sorely missed, and after 35 years as a teacher and then principal, we wish him well in his retirement – which we are sure will be an active one.

Recruitment of a new principal for the next school year will begin after the Easter Break.
